From Vision to Design

From your ideas, we’ll define the geometry, ride characteristics and special details that will make your Palmer uniquely yours.
This is where performance and aesthetics meet — engineering design blended with artistic flair.Every frame is custom designed down to the last detail with drawings and 3D rendering to ensure the finished design is exactly as desired. Entirely designed, engineered and hand crafted in-house for the perfect fit.

Where the magic happens

Each individual component is designed and developed in house and is bespoke to your bicycle.Our tubing is custom and specified to meet the particular riding style of the customer. This type of tubing is stiff under torsion for pedalling efficiency and resisting twisting forces, while retaining compliance for a smoother ride quality.Each joint is reinforced with specifically designed plies of carbon fiber which are meticulously laid up by hand, compacted and oven cured in house.

Our signature raw carbon finish shows of the beauty of carbon fibre but it can also be the blank canvas for your dream paint job. Fast Road

Pure road bike. Smooth, stiff, fast and light. designed with a large stiff headtube, downtube and tapered chainstays to channel all your power to the road.
With Smooth, layered carbon joints. If it looks fast it goes fast.
Compliant seat stays and seat tube keep it smooth. All the benefits of a lightweight frame that will climb with the best and descend with confidence.

Road Sport

A Neo retro classic. With lines reminiscent of traditional steel frames and a lug design to match. The full carbon construction brings lightweight and responsiveness to your classic road bike. Road sport effortlessly covers long distances with a turn of speed that leaves metal bikes behind. A timeless expression of bicycle style with the benefits of carbon fibre.

All Road

35mm tyres and the simplicity of rim brakes? Fast and smooth on all roads and all the tyre most of us need (or want). Designed to keep on going when the tarmac finishes but there is more to explore. Sporting a classic profile with a beautifully compliant ride. For those long days in the saddle but with a deceptive turn of speed when you need to lay down the power.

Road Disc

For the lightest and most responsive, race ready package. Capable of going long or sprinting off the front.
With 35mm tyre clearance for the latest trend in wide fast tyres.

GT

Go far on any road. Lightweight and fast but ready to go off the beaten path when the tarmac runs out. With clearance for 40mm tyres and 2x or 1x drivetrains this bike is ready for whatever you want to throw at it.

Rallye

Designed to go fast everywhere - especially on gravel. We keep it tight and reactive but with our trademark ride compliance to float over the rough stuff. With clearance for 45mm tyres and 1x drivetrains only.

The Palmer Difference

Custom layup

In addition to providing an extremely strong joint, the layup is tailored to the rider tuning the stiffness to suit weight and riding style.Joint finishes can be Unidirectional (UD), 3K Twill or Forged carbon - each providing a distinctly unique carbon aesthetic. The style of joint can really come alive with paint or tint.

The Details

The materials that go into a high performance bicycle deserve to be seen and with our signature raw industrial finish the frame is like a living organism with every fibre visible like sinews of muscle.
Of course a variety of finishes including matt and gloss are available with custom paint options.

Our raw carbon finish can be the blank canvas for your dream paint job. Whether it is a stylish fade or tint or a custom designed paint job we can help bring the vision to life.

Where to start?

Begin with one of our current models or let us know what you are dreaming of. Is it the latest and greatest electronic shifting with disc brakes? Or will it be the tried and true Mechanical rim brake.Our road frames are built for speed - stiff enough to lay down the watts but with a subtle road compliance to take the sting out of those long days in the saddle.The Allroad/Rallye runs big tyre clearance to make an amazing do-it-all machine which can take you well off the beaten path. Or put on the skinny tyres and run with the fast boys (or girls).Geometry is fully custom so we can make that perfect fit. We can work from your current bike and dial it in, or go for a full custom bike fit if you are starting from scratch. It all starts with a conversation and a plan.The Finish. Will it be our signature raw brushed carbon or a gloss finish to really show off that weave? Standard cost includes painted highlights with matched fork and stem (if desired). Or will it be your dream custom paint job?Because we design it all in-house we can mix and match lug styles, finishes with any of our options, and create custom parts and features to meet your desires. We specialise in designing, engineering and creating in carbon fibre and 3D printed metals and almost every frame has some unique parts or features.Rim brake frames start from $7,500AUD / $4800USD. Disc brake Frames from $8,500AUD / $5,400USD (GST incl.). Full custom builds available with Shimano, SRAM or Campagnolo groupsets with most major component brands. We can ship worldwide to most countries.

Process

We kick off the process with a $500AUD (+ gst) deposit to claim your spot in the build queue.Shortly after the deposit we will be in touch to set you up with your personal design portal where we can start collecting everything we need to know to design and build your new bike. Everything from geometry design, specifications, components, graphics ideas etc. will be collected here.
As soon as we have the direction we start working on the design and specifications of your bike. This includes everything from geometry and specifications to the intended build kit to ensure everything works together. along the way we will produce cad drawings and renderings along the way to get a feel for what the end product will be.Once we have the design settled the next payment is 50% of the total to initiate the parts ordering and get the build process underway. Build time may be dictated by current builds already underway and parts supply timing. Current build timing is 4-6 months.
The balance of payment will be required prior to delivery.Be aware that postage costs will apply and if shipping overseas there may also be import duties and taxes. We can estimate these costs up front but are subject to change.

Deposit

Whether you know exactly what you want, or just like what you see but have no idea how to design your dream bike. Rest assured you are in good hands and we are here to help you to create your dream bike.
The first step is to get the ball rolling with a deposit. depending on the current build queue lead times could be 6 months + so grabbing your spot in the line will have your bike in your hands that much quicker.

The Allroad is designed around a 1x or 2x wide drivetrain for more tyre clearance than you ever thought a modern rim brake bike could achieve.
The fork supplied is the lightweight and reliable Whisky No.7+ with 35mm tyre clearance.*Mid reach brake calipers required to clear 35mm tyre. Can also be supplied with the frameset.

Disc

Our new disc frame features an all new headtube and bottom bracket design for internal cables and a clean new look. This is also the debut of our forged carbon joint finish which further advances the industrial aesthetic.
Disc frames also feature the UDH dropout standard for modern drivetrains.Like all of our frames the custom designed carbon fibre joint layup provides optimum strength to weight. Compliant seat stays and seat tube keep it smooth. All the benefits of a lightweight frame that will climb with the best and descend with confidence.

Disc brakes are available with a range of tyre clearance and drivetrain options for whatever the terrain and riding conditions.
Fast Road and Road Sport Disc for speed and style with 32mm - 35mm Tyre clearance.
GT is the ultimate All Rounder with clearance for 40mm tyres and 2x or 1x drivetrains.
Rallye is ready to race on Gravel and anywhere else. With clearance for 45mm tyres and 1x drivetrains only.
